Old Russian military training field - Germany

For three centuries this place has boasted a military tradition, since soldiers were trained to serve the emperor. At the end of the WWII, the place has been dominated by Russian Army, stationed in the DDR.

This huge site includes a big natural reserve, once destined as military training field. The military premises are located to the Northern part of the area. They consist of a dozen barracks and various storage and parking facilities, emptied when Russian left the country during 1992.

Locations are sometimes quite repetitive, completely empty, with just a few signs of the Russian presence but still presenting military features. A cement statue reminding of a panther dominates one of the entrances, defamed by some writers who probably didn't have something better to do in their lives.
