During 1887 on this land was build a brewery and the beer production was still mainteined after a change of the property in 1917. The production was facilitated by the presence of a Glass factory and the nearby Channel.
During 1925 some renovation works should be done after a fire. After that it became one of the most important places for malt manufacturing. In 1929 it reached a production rate of 200.000 liter a day, employing 320 workers.
The bigger building was built in the 1930, designed by the architect Bruno Buch, to be a filling department. After years of production it stopped and the closure followed in 1990.
A part dedicated to the glass manufacturing was founded in 1889, by Evert & Neumann KG. It had a great developement during the first years of 20th Century. Closure and abandonment came in 1997. After some demolition works in the area, a workshop and a villa are still there to witness this glorious past.
The whole area is a typical example of urban decay in a big city, with huge amount of graffiti, so that the factory has been nearly all colored.
